He now went up onto the mountain and summoned those he wanted. So they came to him. Mk. 3:13
We have consecrated our lives to God in response to the call to follow the Lord Jesus more closely and to proclaim the Gospel in the midst of the world, living in community as sisters in Christ, under the protection of Mary. Following Christ is for us a precious gift, a path of love for the One who loved us first. Our consecration leads us to assume the evangelical counsels of perfect chastity for the Kingdom, poverty and obedience by way of commitments that constitute sacred bonds.
Through Baptism we have become daughters of God, members of the Body of Christ, incorporated into his Church and participants in his mission. Our consecration leads us to bring these gifts to their fullness. Our Mother Mary is an example and encouragement for us to live this vocation that is both beautiful and demanding.
How is our calling lived out?
In each of the evangelical counsels: chastity, poverty and obedience.
“I often ask myself: if I felt such deep joy on that day, what will it be like when his promises are fulfilled and I enjoy his eternal embrace? … I can’t wait!”
Lara Montoya, Peru
“My consecration for all the days of my life has been an experience of surrendering myself to God; it’s my small response to the calling to remain in his love and to live with the certainty that he remains with me forever.”
Patricia Lins, Brazil
“Belonging totally to God to proclaim his reconciling Word and Love, and doing that every day of my life.”
Mónica Ibañez, Peru
We make the profession of the evangelical counsels in a Eucharistic celebration where we freely express our desire to consecrate our life to God.
